Steelhead Season is Upon Us!

Well, it's that time of year.....the leaves are starting to turn, the rains are moving in, and as we speak the temperatures are dropping to a low in the upper 30's.  In northeast Ohio, that spells "Steelhead Season."

Rumor has it that some streams already have numbers of fish many miles upstream.  One thing is certain....when a Steelhead has the urge to get up stream, they go regardless of the water levels which at present are quite low.

Nevertheless, the season will be in full swing in no time!  As soon as water levels rise, the rivers will be slammed with fresh hot chrome and we will be ready.

Below is a photo of a fish that fits the definition of "fresh hot chrome."  This was a fresh hen caught last spring.  She was large (estimated at 37 inches and 18lbs), in charge, caught, photographed, and released.  She swam away with the fight and vitality of no other fish I have ever seen...and that is awesome.

We still have opening available for this fall, but are actively booking into next year as well.  If you are interested in a world class steelhead outing, then we are the outfitter for you.  Give us a call to talk about your next trip.  We look forward to talking to you!
